Tourism and Travel Agencies

Travelling has been old but one of the most important activities of humans since their inception. The means of travelling has greatly changed due to modernization but its motive has more or less remained same throughout. People travel for leisure, business and various other reasons. Even though the motive of travelling is same but its nature and scope have changed significantly. It has given birth to one the most important industry of the 21st century, i.e, ‘Tourism’ .

Tourism is nothing but the simple act of travelling by people. The Tourism is one of the world’s largest industry with a global economic contribution of over 7.6 Trillion USD in 2016. Tourism has single handedly played a key role in a huge economic development of various countries by providing not only alternative source of revenue for the state but also for its citizens by providing employment and various other oppurtunities.There are different sectors of tourism one of them being a travel agency. Travel agencies include individuals or companies which are pertinent to the promotion of tourism and act auxiliary to it. They are vital for the development of tourism industry. Travel agencies provide all facilities to the travellers such as arranging for a means of travelling for a customer from various suppliers like railways, airlines ,ships etc, arranging for the stay of the traveller during his/her course of travelling . It is the travel agency which packages and processes the nitty gritties of traveling and releases the burden from the shoulders of the traveller to a great extent.

Travelling has become complicated in modern times and continues to become even more complicated. It is the travel agency that saves a modern day traveller from such complication and makes it simple as much as possible while promoting and helping in the development of the tourism industry.
