7-Day Maasai Mara Safari & Mombasa Extension
The Maasai Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to comprehend; over 450 species of animals have been recorded here! It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
You will be picked up in your Nairobi hotel or airport and begin your drive through the floor of the Great Rift Valley, while stopping on the way to admire the breathtaking views of the escarpment. Proceed to Maasai Mara, after check-in and late lunch, you have some time to relax, before you go for a first game drive. At sunset you come back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

You will easily spot lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna.
Day 2: Maasai Mara – Full day game drives and photography
Enjoy a full day game viewing with picnic lunch on the Mara River over-looking the Hippo Pools and the savannah.
In addition to the game drive offerings you can also decide to take an optional hot air balloon ride (US$450 per person); or visit a local Maasai village (US$30 per person). Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Masai Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is 1510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife.
Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nakuru National Park
We shall drive through the floor of the Great Rift Valley. We arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch at our lodge/camp. Relax at your accommodation after lunch till 1600hrs for a late afternoon game drive followed by dinner and overnight.
Lake Nakuru National Park is best known for its vast and dynamic variety of bird life, over 400 birds’ species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork including the beautiful flamingo! You will interact with four of the Big Five at the park, excluding the elephant. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the White Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. As you go further inside the park there is a spectacular area called “Out of Africa” where you experience an amazing view of part of the Great Rift Valley. The park is also home to the olive baboon, an amazing animal to see!
Day 4: Nakuru National Park to Mombasa via Nairobi
Breakfast at the lodge, morning game drive thereafter drive to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Take the afternoon scheduled flight to Mombasa. On arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the resort. Check in. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure within the Resort. Overnight at the Resort on half board
Day 5 & 6: Mombasa
Take a deep breath and pamper yourself with a relaxing stay at the beach: a quiet place, of crystalline turquoise water, white sand and huge seashore with only the noise of the sea and the gulls in the background. This place has become popular for its exotic beaches, diverse marine life, world-class hotels and friendly people. Nightlife is always exciting, and the City offers many dance clubs and casinos that cater to a variety of entertainment tastes.
Day 7: Depart
Spend the morning at leisure here. In good time; you are picked up and transferred to the airport in time for the scheduled flight to Nairobi. On arrival, you are transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport
