Hospitality Jamaica Award Winners 2017

Any participant of Hospitality Awards seeks to receive a prestigious award for leadership and innovation in the tourism industry. Awarding of winners is always an exciting and nice event.

It is therefore interesting to see the report of RJRGLEANER Communications Group represented the third annual Hospitality Jamaica Awards which was held in St James on November 11th at the Montego Bay Convention Centre. Every year this competition becomes more popular, in 2017 it gained about 12 000 people to vote. To choose the best of the best in the field of tourism the most important persons in the sector of hospitality gathered there.

The ceremony was fabulous and exciting.  All participants were looking forward to the awards in numerous categories. In the result 19 tourist organizations and individuals were recognized for their exceptional achievements in the industry. And the surprise from the organizers was awarding of two winners in the category Hospitality Personality of the Year. They were named Marc Melville, the director of group revenue and new development, and John Byles of Chukka Caribbean Adventures’ CEO. Among other big winners were Royalton White Sands which pulled out ahead to win both the Jamaica’s Best Family Resort and Best All-Inclusive Under 300 Rooms awards. Also well-deserved awards were presented to Sandals Resorts International, Round Hill Hotel and Villas, Sandy Haven, Hilton Rose Hall, and Courtleigh Hotel and Suites.
